Job Description
The Manager, Global Procurement Systems supports the Global Procurement Systems Sr. Manager within R&D Procurement (RDP). This role will drive operational excellence, support process governance, and collaborate across global teams to ensure the successful delivery of high‑quality system solutions. The role also proactively supports and optimizes the production environment, addresses ongoing system issues, and fosters continuous improvement and innovation for the business and user community.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a global point of contact within R&D Procurement for procurement program initiatives, closely collaborating with the Sr. Manager.
- Lead and support process transformation and continuous improvement initiatives, including standardization, simplification, and technology innovation related to yearly system releases.
- Provide end‑to‑end business process support, maintain accountability for defect tracking and issue resolution, collaborate with BTS on LMIC monthly maintenance releases, and lead UAT activities and release communication.
- Formulate and implement group goals and objectives to ensure the Systems Team excels in managing training materials and system documentation, and lead initiatives that optimize team effectiveness.
- Facilitate requirements gathering with stakeholders to understand needs and provide strategies to achieve process improvement goals via technology.
- Identify future optimization opportunities, provide insights for operational improvements, alternate strategies, methodologies, and best practices.
- Collaborate with BTS teams to support successful implementation and deployment of maintenance and full releases.
- Provide operational process expertise during migrations, business expansions (M&A/divestitures), and other change initiatives; review and understand life‑sciences contracts and amendments for database corrections.
- Bridge knowledge gaps during requirements gatherings to ensure all business needs are captured; assess and define integration requirements for seamless interoperability.
- Create and implement dashboards for KPI reporting, track and report on key global metrics, and evaluate improvement initiatives.
- Assist in developing solid business cases for new initiatives and preparing executive presentations aligned with Abb Vie strategy.
- Bachelor’s degree required, 7+ years of experience; advanced degree preferred. Experience in Business Information Services or Computer Sciences preferred. PMI or PMP certification a plus.
- 7+ years of Business/System Analysis and Software testing experience.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce, SAP S4 HANA, SharePoint, Power BI, AI, AWS, RPA, and SDLC methodologies.
- Demonstrated success leading or supporting cross‑functional project teams for process governance and improvement.
- Experience with incident management, product backlog, RPA process implementations, data/contract migrations, UAT testing, and change management.
- Experience and understanding of end‑to‑end contract management processes within procurement or related functions (life‑sciences experience preferred).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, creativity, and insight skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and political awareness.
- Strong documentation and project management skills with proven ability to motivate employees and create a positive environment.
- Experience supporting or managing global procurement projects, preferably in fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environments.
- Experience driving continuous improvement;
Lean Six Sigma or similar operational excellence certification is a plus.
- The compensation range described is the possible base pay range for this role; individual compensation may vary based on location and other factors.
