Job Description

Competitive & Strategic Insights (CSI) focuses on competitive intelligence for Abb Vie’s industry-leading pipeline and R&D areas of interest. The team strives to drive best-in-class Competitive Intelligence, partnering closely with Asset Teams, TA and Research & Development (R&D) leadership. CSI informs and influences Abb Vie strategy according to the pipeline commercial operating model and in coordination across multiple stakeholders. CSI communicates intelligence and insights to the broader organization to influence strategy and decision-making.

The Director, CSI AI Lead will drive enterprise-wide CI capabilities through AI and additional technologies, in partnership with cross-functional partners (e.g. Business Technology Solutions (BTS), Commercial, etc.). In this role, you will also be a key business owner for ODIN, Abb Vie’s enterprise market and competitive intelligence platform, driving overall strategic direction and implementation. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role for a strategic, proactive leader who thrives at the intersection of science, technology, and collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Own the enterprise integration strategy across other competitive intelligence systems and data sources and ensure stakeholders have single version of truth. Lead the business strategy for integrating competitive intelligence platforms, syndicated data sources, internal repositories, AI agents, dashboards, knowledge graphs, and external vendor capabilities into the ODIN ecosystem.
  • Across the CI portfolio of capabilities, evaluate existing and emerging CI, market intelligence, syndicated data, social intelligence, literature, patent, clinical trial, and pipeline intelligence tools to determine whether they should be integrated into ODIN, continued as specialized platforms, rationalized, or retired.
  • Partner with BTS to define business requirements for CI knowledge graph and agent-enabled workflows, ensuring AI agents are grounded in approved, traceable, and validated intelligence sources.
  • Lead ODIN business governance forums, including intake, prioritization, roadmap trade-offs, executive updates, capability decisions, and cross-functional alignment across CSI, Commercial, BTS, Achieving Protocol Excellence (APEX), Corporate Business Strategy Office (CBSO), R&D, and enterprise functions.
  • Support documentation, prioritization, and feasibility assessment of high-value ODIN use cases; maintain a use case inventory and benefits tracker capturing planned versus realized value across program phases.
  • Enable enterprise CI AI capabilities, partner closely with CI leads, BTS, analytics, and platform stakeholders to align feasibility, timing, and execution without owning coding or engineering tasks directly.
  • Translate competitive intelligence questions into compelling, intuitive visual experiences that surface patterns, risks, and opportunities across AI platforms, including ODIN.
  • Platform KPIs & Adoption Metrics:
    Track, maintain, and report on platform KPIs, adoption metrics, user engagement, and feedback, providing regular updates to business owners to inform rollout and prioritization decisions.
  • Use Case Development & Benefits Tracking:
    Support the documentation, prioritization, and feasibility assessment of high-value ODIN platform use cases; maintain a use case inventory and benefits tracker capturing planned vs. realized value across program phases.
  • Drive and implement communication and training for ODIN and additional AI CI resources at the enterprise level, and across the BUs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in health/life sciences required;
    Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD) in Life Sciences/Medicine…
