The company is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist I to support procurement and Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) activities. This role is responsible for processing purchase requests, managing inventory-related data, resolving invoice issues, and coordinating with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure timely fulfillment of service and material orders. The ideal candidate has strong data entry skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience working with procurement or inventory management systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Process purchase requisitions and support the purchase order lifecycle from request through fulfillment.
- Review and enter Maintenance Stock Standardization Recommendation requests accurately.
- Maintain accurate procurement and inventory records while ensuring data integrity.
- Coordinate with internal customers and vendors to expedite orders and resolve purchasing issues.
- Monitor open purchase orders and follow up to ensure timely closure and delivery.
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and payable inquiries.
- Analyze procurement and inventory data to support sourcing and purchasing decisions.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and customer service.
- Prepare reports and assist with inventory tracking using procurement and reporting systems.
- Support cross-functional teams and provide backup assistance for MRO operations as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, warehouse operations, data entry, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent data entry accuracy.
- Experience working with procurement or inventory management systems.
- Familiarity with machine parts or maintenance-related materials.
- Experience using SAP
, Maximo
, or Smartsheet
. - Experience resolving invoice discrepancies and tracking purchase orders.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
, including Microsoft Excel. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in a Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) environment.
- Knowledge of procurement workflows and inventory control processes.
- Experience creating reports and performing basic data analysis.
- Experience with enterprise procurement systems and reporting tools.
