SMS Staffing is hiring Skilled Packers/Stackers!

Job Title: Packer/Stacker

Location: North Chicago, IL

Pay Rate: $15.00+/hr

Temp to Hire

Schedule:
1st Shift | 6:00 am – 4:00 pm (Monday
- Thursday)
2nd Shift | 4:00 pm – 2:30 am (Monday
- Thursday)

Position Summary

The Packer/Stacker is responsible for packaging, labeling, and stacking finished products according to company specifications while maintaining production standards and safety requirements. This position plays a key role in supporting efficient manufacturing operations and ensuring product quality.

Key Packer/Stacker Responsibilities
  • Pack containers into boxes according to production specifications.
  • Stack skids and pallets according to established guidelines.
  • Label containers accurately and according to customer requirements.
  • Load cans and containers onto production lines.
  • Meet or exceed established production rates and performance standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete assigned tasks and production activities as directed.
  • Support food safety initiatives and comply with food safety requirements when applicable.
Qualifications
  • Previous manufacturing, production, warehouse, or packing experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Requirements
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment that may include exposure to industrial hazards.
  • Ability to meet all job function and production requirements.
  • Must follow all safety regulations and wear required PPE.
  • This position involves safety-sensitive job functions.
