Job TitleSenior Principal Research Scientist – Process Chemistry (Drug Conjugates, Peptides, and Small Molecules)
Responsibilities- Lead the setting and implementation of the Process Chemistry strategy for projects across therapeutic modalities.
- Lead project teams in process development and characterization across modalities, including translation of laboratory processes to scalable processes.
- Mentor staff in troubleshooting strategic and experimental issues and share knowledge with peers and senior leadership.
- Author and review regulatory documents, laboratory data, technical memos and reports.
- Collaborate with organic chemists, analytical chemists, engineers, drug product development scientists, asset strategy leadership, and program management.
- Identify and nurture ideas for continuous improvement activities and initiatives within Synthetic Molecules CMC R&D.
- Set project strategies, define responsibilities and timelines, develop control strategies, and provide leadership in a matrixed team setting.
- Develop robust processes for cGMP manufacturing.
- Minimum 18 years (BS), 16 years (MS), or 10 years (PhD) of experience in organic chemistry or related field; position can be at Senior Principal Research Scientist or Principal Research Scientist II level based on experience.
- Experience managing and developing scientific leaders and teams in CMC.
- Preferred experience with siRNA, antibody drug- and oligonucleotide-conjugates (AOCs), and high-potent compounds.
- Proven scientific leadership with strong interpersonal and communication skills for facilitating collaborations.
- Strong understanding of modern organic chemistry, mechanistic theory, control strategy development (including mutagenic impurity and nitrosamine controls), and regulatory starting material strategies.
- Understanding of global regulatory expectations and experience authoring development reports and regulatory filings.
- Compensation range provided is a possible base pay range; actual pay may vary based on location and other factors.

- Eligible for long‑term incentive programs.
- Travel: 5% of the time.
Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8‑hour day).
