Job DescriptionThe Molecular Profiling and Drug Delivery (MPDD) function within the Small Molecule CMC organization handles deliverables across drug discovery and development. In this role you will:
- Utilize state-of-the-art automation and computational tools to progress candidates with higher probability of success from lead optimization through clinical proof of concept and product launch.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify the commercial solid form of the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) and establish structure‑property‑performance correlations.
- Transition drug substance isolation processes and physical characterization methods to commercial manufacturing sites, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Conduct develop ability assessments to select molecules for clinical development, profiling physicochemical properties, developing preclinical formulations, and solving in‑vivo absorption challenges.
- Advance novel drug delivery strategies across multiple routes of administration, including small molecules, PROTACs, and peptides, aligned with program target product profiles.
- Design and implement automated, data‑enabled workflows that accelerate decision‑making and improve throughput in early development sciences.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. with 10+ (B.S.), 8+ (M.S.), or 0-3 (Ph.D.) years of experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry.
- Strong background in chemical automation, assay development, and integrated workflow design.
- Hands‑on experience with physicochemical property assessment, assay miniaturization, and data capture for early develop ability.
- Proficiency in high‑performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), mass spectrometry, powder X‑ray diffraction (pXRD), optical microscopy, light scattering, thermal analysis, and other biophysical techniques.
- Familiarity with preclinical formulation development, screening strategies, and emerging modalities.
- Ability to generate, structure, and capture data consistently to support predictive modeling and AI/ML applications.
- Experience collaborating with data scientists, computational chemists, or informatics partners.
- Excellent organizational skills, self‑management, and attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
- Level and compensation will be commensurate with experience.
- Competitive base pay based on job grade, geographic location, and individual performance.
- Comprehensive benefits package including paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick leave), medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) retirement plan.
- Eligibility to participate in short‑term incentive programs.
