We areseekingahighly motivated
Associate
Scientist,in-vitro
Pharmacologist,who will make contributions to thedesign,execution,and communication of novel multi-disciplinary research ina highly collaborative
Migraine and Paindrug discovery program. Primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will be toconductbasic sciencestudiesfor the pharmacological evaluation of novel compounds and biologics,as well astoassistin the development ofassays andapproachesfortarget engagement andtranslationalbiomarkers.
He/Shewill also contribute to the development of newcellularmodelsrepresentative of human disease and will generate high-quality datareportsto support the identification and development of novel therapeutics.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Contributingtothecellular evaluation of novel therapeutics to treatmigraineand other pain related disorders.
- Contributing to the development oftranslatableassays/models.
- Effectively organizing schedule tofacilitateacute and longitudinal studies.
- Formulating novel therapeutics cellular/ex vivo assays.
- Generating detailed andaccuratereports of study outcomes.
- Adaptable, creative,andquantitativethinking.
- Opportunities to expand skillset tonew approaches and technologies will be available.
- The successful candidate willbe responsible forbeing an active contributor to
Pain relatedprograms in an exciting, fast-paced team environment.
Qualifications
- Associate Scientist I:
Bachelors Degree, or equivalent
Education. - Associate Scientist II:
Bachelors Degree, or equivalent education, with typically 3 or more years experience or Masters Degreeor equivalent education (noadditionalexperience). - Minimum requirement isabachelorsdegreeor similar in Neuroscience,Biologyor other relevantnaturalsciences.
- Hands-on experience in the laboratory, aseptic techniques, and working with cellular models and plate-based assaysis a requirement.
- Experience with genetic, molecular, and histochemistry techniques(e.g., RNA isolation and biomarker quantification by RT-PCR,CRISPR editing, capillary electrophoresis) orex vivo techniques.
- Ability to contribute independently butalsointegrate well into ateamtowork across multiple scientific disciplines and functions.
- Ability to independently generate precise,reliable and reproducible datain a timely manner.
- Desire to take onadditionalresponsibilities to progress career.
- Ability towork ina highly collaborative scientific environment withstrongcommunicationskills.
- Experience in drug discovery and primary/iPS cell culturesisa plus.
- Builds strong relationships with peers to enable higher performance.
- Learns fast,graspsthe "essence"and can changecoursequickly where indicated.
- Raises the bar and is never satisfied with the status quo.
- Open to suggestions and experimentation for improvement.
