This position requires a BSc/ MSclevel scientist tomaximizetheimpact andproductivityofthe Chemical Biology and Mass Spectrometryand Technologies(CB&MST) teamforgenerationofdata todrivepipeline decisions.
This scientist will work collaboratively with team memberstotransition routine,low throughput sample preparationproceduresfortarget validation,target engagement, and off-target profiling into high precision / high throughputprocedureswith a focus in proteomics preparation methodologies and plate-based proteomics sample prep. Thesuccessfulcandidate will collaborate with teammates tooptimizeandperformautomatedsamplepreparationmethodologies and conduct mass spectrometry-based proteomicsexperimentstoenablethis transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with team members to develop,validate,andimplementautomatedsample preparation workflows for CB&MST activities, with an emphasis on plate-basedproteomics sample preparation using cell lines, tissues and other biological matrices.
Develop methods to automate chemical biology sample prep using magnetic bead-based enrichments andliquid handling.
Collaborate with team members to establish, document, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for routine workflows.
Operate, monitor, and assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of LC-MS instrumentation and associated laboratory equipment.
Assist with data processing, quality assessment,and data interpretation.
Interface andcollaboratewith colleague sand project teams in therapeutic areas to determine appropriate samples and amounts required for studies.
Basic:
Bachelors or Masters in chemistry, biochemistry,chemical biology or related field with typically 3-5+ (BS), or 0-2+ (MS) years of experience.
Hands‑on bench skills for preparing samples for mass spectrometry, with a focus in proteomics sample preparation from cell lines and tissues.
Ability to generate proteomics samples in 96‑well platesandrunsamples on LC‑MS instrumentation.
Ability to workproficientlywith laboratory equipment typically found in a chemical biology, biochemistry, or molecular biology laboratory.
Demonstrated ability totroubleshootand diagnose problems with common laboratory equipment.
Preferred:
ExperienceutilizingLC/MSfor proteomics incluedes current models of Thermo and Bruker mass spectrometers.
Experience with automation such as the Agilent Bravo, Thermofisher King Fisher,and Opentrons Flex.
Ability to conduct different types of proteomics experiments including whole proteomics, phosphoproteomicsimmunoprecipitationproteomics,and targeted MS,etc.
Experience in basic biochemistry and molecular biology techniquesincludingplate-based assays,SDS-PAGE, western blotting,andmammaliantissue cultureis desired.
Ability to conduct bead- and probe-based chemical biologyexperimentsthat utilize proteomics as a readout.
Ability to effectively use AI to increase personal and team productivity.
Builds strong relationships with peers and cross functionally with partners outside of team to enable higher performance.
