Scientist II

We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join Discovery Immunology’s Nonhuman Primate (NHP) In Vivo Pharmacology team. This hands-on, lab-based role will drive development and deployment of NHP in vitro and in vivo models to support Immunology drug discovery efforts, with significant cell biology and ex vivo expertise.

• Routine culture and maintenance of immortalized and primary cell cultures (especially NHP and human).
• Isolate primary human cells from tissue and whole blood.
• Work with a Principal Scientist to develop flow cytometry panels for immunophenotyping.
• Design, perform, and interpret in vitro experiments using human and NHP primary immune cells.
• Conduct experiments with high independence and initiative for routine methods.
• Independently schedule and prioritize workload across multiple tasks.
• Maintain detailed electronic documentation and contribute to final reports.
• Collaborate across groups and present findings to diverse audiences.

• Bachelor’s + at least 5 years experience, or Master’s + at least 2 years experience.
• Experience with human tissue samples and isolating/characterizing cells (e.g., epithelial, fibroblast, endothelial, B cells, T cells, monocytes) via tissue digestion/dissociation; extensive primary cell culture and in vitro cell-based assays.
• Proficiency in qPCR, multicolor flow cytometry/FACS, ELISA/Luminex/MSD, proliferation/viability, cytotoxicity, and in vitro stimulation assays.
• Strong written/oral communication and presentation skills; electronic lab notebooks preferred.
• Statistical analysis and graphing software (Excel, Flow Jo, Graph Pad Prism).
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a matrixed organization.
