Imagine playing a key role in strengthening the financial foundations of a diverse and growing hospitality business.
As Reporting Project Accountant (9-Month Fixed-Term Contract), you'll join us at an exciting time, helping to enhance the quality, consistency and control of our financial reporting across our hotel, QSR and care businesses.
Reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting, you'll lead a critical project to review, streamline and formalise balance sheet reconciliation processes across the Group. You'll assess the current reconciliation landscape, identify opportunities for improvement and implement a robust, scalable framework that supports accuracy, compliance and confidence in our financial reporting.
Working closely with colleagues across transactional finance, management accounting and reporting teams, you'll build strong relationships, drive best practice and help embed new ways of working that deliver lasting improvements across the business.

This is a hybrid role, requiring you to be based at our Watford Head Office 3–4 days per week.
What You Will Do In This Splendid RoleThis is a hands‑on project role where you'll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the way we manage and control our financial reporting processes across the Group.
- Lead process improvement – Review and streamline our existing balance sheet reconciliation processes, identifying risks, control gaps and opportunities to strengthen financial governance.
- Build a robust reconciliation framework – Design and implement a consistent, scalable approach to balance sheet reconciliations across our hotel, QSR and care businesses.
- Own key reconciliations – Take responsibility for reconciling control accounts, ensuring all balance sheet items are accurate, fully supported and reconciled in a timely manner. Investigate and resolve outstanding or unreconciled items.
- Collaborate across finance teams – Work closely with transactional finance and management accounting teams to embed new processes, ensure consistency and drive adoption of best practice.
- Drive automation and efficiency – Identify opportunities to improve and automate reconciliation activities, reducing manual effort while strengthening controls and reporting accuracy.
- Create tools and documentation – Develop templates, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and supporting documentation that provide clear guidance and create a sustainable framework for the future.
- Support audit activities – Provide ad hoc support during statutory audits, ensuring reconciliations and supporting documentation are accurate, complete and readily available.
- Deliver lasting change – Help establish stronger controls, improved governance and more efficient ways of working that continue to add value long after the project is complete.
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting expertise with a passion for process improvement and financial controls.
You’ll bring:
- Proven experience as a Project Accountant, Financial Accountant or similar
. - Experience managing complex, high-volume balance sheet reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
- A track record of delivering process improvements, finance transformation or automation initiatives
. - Strong Excel skills
, including lookups, SUMIFs and working with large datasets. - A solid understanding of financial reporting standards and internal controls
. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across the business.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to deliver to tight deadlines.
