This job requires a DOT physical and a current DOT medical card.

A Brink Superintendent is responsible for the direction, guidance, safety health and welfare of all site staff including documentation and execution of the day-to-day field operational needs of the individual project. The Superintendent manages the day-to-day crews and sub-contractors. The Superintendent manages the weekly changes and production in a safe and productive manner. They ensure safe working conditions, and that everyone is trained and understands all hazards of each jobsite, and what is taking place with respect to productivity.

The Superintendent ensures project execution.

Responsibilities and duties include:

• Leading and working along with a crew which consist of Journeyman, Apprentices, Operators, and Groundmen.
• Laying out work and making certain that materials, tools, equipment and information are on the job site in the proper locations to meet construction schedules.
• Interacting with construction manager or Project Manager and on smaller projects may oversee complete installation.
• Reporting to assigned job site location on time or as directed.
• Monitoring work in progress.
• Evaluating fellow employees work performance.
• Training field personnel in technical skills and safety methods.
• Understanding and complying with Company/Job Safety Requirements (O.S.H.A.).
• Ensuring all safety flashes and safety information is posted and disseminated to all field personnel.
• Ensuring minor maintenance, upkeep and service is being completed.
• Ensuring staff is trained on equipment they are operating.
• Communicating to the crew, subcontractors and owner to maintain a good working relationship.
• Reading and understanding all contract requirements and paperwork documentation.
• Overseeing time reporting and proper coding of time sheets.
• Ensuring all paperwork is completed timely and accurate.

Working conditions include:

• Working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, or snow.
• Utilizing construction site sanitary facilities (Porta-Johns).
• Wearing personnel protective equipment (i.e., Hard hats, safety glasses, safety harnesses as required) and respirators when required.
• Ability to work 8 hours per day, night shift, 40 hours per week and overtime as required with little or on short notice.
• Valid Driver's License and have own transportation.

Qualifications and education requirements include:

• Journeyman Certificate
• High school Graduate, Holder of G.E.D., or equivalent studies/ experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of previous experience. Preferably in distribution and small transmission construction.
• Valid Class A CDL
