Full Time Civil Concrete Superintendent
- North Dakota
The Civil Concrete Superintendent is responsible for the planning, coordination, supervision, and execution of all concrete-related civil construction activities on assigned projects. This role ensures that concrete work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
All primary projects are located locally within North Dakota. For employees interested in year-round work, there is an opportunity to travel to Texas during the winter months. Texas travel is optional.
EssentialJob Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead concrete flatwork crew(s) by assigning work duties; observing and monitoring work tasks; providing feedback to employees; evaluating work performance; and assisting employees to correct deficiencies
- Read and execute plans efficiently
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Estimators, and Operations
- Identify and organize daily labor requirements
- Organize mobilization and identify necessary equipment required
- Perform layout, forming, reinforcement, installation, and finishing of concrete flatwork projects
- Help keep crews and projects on task
- Plan a safe project site and implement work activities in a safe manner every day while following OSHA standards
- Plan for and secure needed materials and equipment, ensuring projects are completed in a timely manner
- Inspect work and provide solutions to problems as needed
- Maintain equipment by inspecting equipment for damage and performing routine maintenance
- 3+ years of experience as a Concrete Finisher
- 3+ years of experience as a Concrete Form Setter
- Proficient in the use of construction tools
- Experienced operating mini-excavators and skid steers and pouring concrete
- Ability to oversee site work and projects
- Bilingual Spanish/English communication and written ability preferred
- Ability to make important decisions under pressure
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and punctual
- Valid driver's license and clean driving history
- Ability to lift 50–100 lbs.
- Strong work ethic
- Strong leadership skills and punctuality
- Good communication skills and ability to work with and lead a crew
- Work is primarily local to North Dakota
- Civil construction sites including roads, bridges, utilities, foundations, and infrastructure projects
- Exposure to noise, dust, heavy equipment, and changing weather conditions
- Optional opportunity to travel to Texas during the winter months for employees interested in year-round work
