Salary Range
: $70,000 - $85,000

The Site Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and ongoing management of Watco’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs to ensure a safe, compliant, and engaged workplace. This role works closely with terminal leadership, team members, and customers to promote a proactive safety culture, identify and mitigate hazards, and maintain regulatory and company compliance. The Site Safety Coordinator leads by example in the field, conducting inspections, audits, and training, supporting onboarding and emergency preparedness, and driving continuous improvement in safety performance across operations.

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and Watco policies
• Conduct regular site inspections, walkthroughs, audits, and efficiency tests to identify unsafe acts or conditions and develop corrective actions as needed
• Lead and participate in safety meetings, job briefings, and training sessions for all terminal personnel
• Support site leadership in maintaining accurate and current safety documentation, including JSAs/JHAs, SOPs, and training records
• Coordinate, deliver, and document required team member training (e.g., Hazmat Awareness, PPE, LOTO, Fall Protection, Fire Safety, Emergency Response, Respiratory Protection)
• Support onboarding and orientation for new team members to ensure completion of required safety training, documentation, and qualification steps prior to field work
• Assist in incident and near-miss investigations; determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Maintain safety and environmental reporting such as OSHA 300 logs, Velocity entries, and other recordkeeping requirements
• Oversee and support programs such as Stormwater Pollution Prevention, Spill Prevention and Countermeasure, and Waste Management
• Ensure contractor and visitor safety compliance in coordination with terminal management
• Act as liaison between terminal management, the Safety Director, customers, and regulatory agencies during inspections or audits
• Promote participation in Watco’s Stop Work Obligation program and reinforce behavior-based safety observations
• Support site leadership in emergency preparedness and participate in emergency response drills and exercises
• Collaborate with Risk Management and People Services on injury prevention, case handling, and workers’ compensation matters
• Communicate safety performance metrics, monthly “Path Forward” updates, and improvement plans to terminal management and the Safety Director
• Manage company purchasing card (P-card) transactions responsibly and reconcile expenses in accordance with Watco policy and Safety Department procedures
