Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Teacher to join our middle/high school faculty. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop strong critical thinking skills in the areas of health and science, foster a high level of curiosity, establish a strong scientific foundation, and create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based science and health lessons for students in 6-8.
- Develop 21st Century skills in student in the science field.
- Create and assess assignments, projects, and assessments to monitor and support student progress.
- Foster a supportive and respectful classroom culture that encourages academic growth and creativity.
- Integrate technology and multimedia resources to enhance instruction.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school staff regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, interdisciplinary projects, and school-wide initiatives.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and staff meetings.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
- Uphold school policies, values, and expectations.
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification for middle and/or high school English (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and meeting the needs of diverse learners.
- Enthusiasm for working with adolescents and supporting their academic and personal growth.
- Experience with differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching practices.
- Familiarity with current educational technology and learning management systems.
- Knowledge of Common Core or state standards.
- Ability to sponsor or support extracurricular activities, clubs, or writing competitions is a plus.
