Role Description

This full-time, on-site K–12 Music Instructor role is based asant High School in Rolla, ND. The Music Instructor will plan, deliver, and assess music lessons for students across various grade levels, including general music and performance-based classes such as band or choir, depending on school needs. Daily responsibilities include developing age-appropriate curricula, organizing rehearsals, preparing students for performances, and integrating music theory, history, and practical skills into instruction.

The instructor will collaborate with other educators, communicate regularly with families and administrators, and maintain a safe, positive classroom and rehearsal environment. Additional duties may include supervising extracurricular music activities, managing instruments and equipment, and participating in school-wide events and professional development.

Qualifications
  • Strong instructional and classroom management skills with the ability to teach music to diverse K–12 learners.
  • Proficiency in music theory, instrumental and/or vocal performance, and ensemble direction.
  • Ability to design engaging music curricula, assess student progress, and adapt instruction for different learning styles.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a closely related field; valid or eligible K–12 teaching certification in North Dakota (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe).
  • Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory teaching practices and supporting students from varied backgrounds.
  • Experience organizing concerts, recitals, or other student performances is preferred.
  • Ability to manage classroom instruments, technology, and learning resources responsibly.
