Professional Summary

XYZ Power seeks a Plant Engineer, preferably holding a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, though other majors may be considered. The role is located at the Milton R. Young Station, a two‑unit coal‑fired power plant near Center, ND, approximately 35 miles from Bismarck.

• Coordinate the preparation of construction drawings and specifications for plant process equipment.
• Design and install new and replacement equipment.
• Work with consultants and contractors to achieve engineering objectives.
• Troubleshoot existing systems with operations and maintenance to resolve safety or production problems.
• Identify technical and operational training needs and initiate action on capital and O&M projects.
• Monitor work activity to ensure safe execution in compliance with regulations.
• Assist in record‑keeping of system work order files, standard drawings, and data files.
• Analyze plant data and provide recommendations.
• Monitor and recommend new technology to improve the efficiency, reliability, availability, and longevity of the plant.
• Provide engineering support to other departments as required.

A degree in mechanical engineering is required; related education may be considered. Candidates at all experience levels are welcome, including recent graduates and experienced engineers. Previous industrial experience, particularly with rotating or fixed equipment, is preferred.

Base salary ranges from $74,130 to $112,004 per year, based on skills, education, and experience. The position is full‑time and offers full benefits, relocation assistance, and overtime and commission exclusions. Bonuses are not included.
