Local Fire Safety Advisor

Do you want to save lives from fire before they are in danger?

We at Norconsult develop tomorrow’s society by combining engineering, architecture, urban planning, and digital competence. In Kongsberg and the surrounding areas, a lot of exciting things are happening in industry, real estate, and infrastructure. We therefore want to get in touch with you who are motivated to become our first local advisor in fire safety.

Kongsberg is organized together with Larvik and Tønsberg, and we have together more than 140 employees at the offices. We have very varied assignments and a short way to interdisciplinary expertise, both between the offices and in collaboration with our solid professional communities in the rest of the country. Norconsult has around 80 employees working in fire safety, where 5 are affiliated with our part of the organization.

We have a good, stable, and inclusive environment, both professionally and socially.

We have been present in Kongsberg since 2023, and in February 2026 we moved into a brand new building in Kongsberg downtown. We are today 13 employees, in the areas of energy, construction, plumbing, electrical, environment, tunnel, GIS, and landscape architecture, and are involved in exciting assignments both locally and nationally. With access to Norway’s largest professional communities in most technical fields, combined with employees who have connections to the local area, we are a robust partner for project management, design, and consultancy – with an unwavering focus on sustainability.

Your main job tasks will be:

• Advisory in fire safety in all project phases and for buildings in operation
• Designing and modeling (BIM) of fire safety solutions for small and large projects
• Developing fire concepts and fire drawings
• Conducting analyses, expert assessments, and documenting deviations/solutions
• Surveys and condition assessments with proposals for measures
• Following up fire safety solutions in the construction phase and checking execution
• Contributing to the preparation of tender documents and cost estimates
• Professional follow-up and management in multidisciplinary and single-discipline assignments
• Ensuring good and feasible solutions through dialogue with property owners, contractors, and partners

For us, it is important that you have:

• Burning interest and motivation for the subject
• Relevant engineering degree, minimum Bachelor-level
• At least 3 years of experience from work with fire safety, either from design or fire service
• Solid knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines
• Good abilities to communicate in Norwegian, through reports and presentations
• The prerequisites to be cleared for work on graded assignments

It is considered an advantage if you have knowledge of software like Revit, AutoCAD, Pyro Sim, and Pathfinder.
