Minnkota Power Cooperative is seeking a Plant Engineer to join the team at the Milton R. Young Station located near Center, ND. The station is a two‑unit coal‑fired power plant providing a stable energy source for our cooperative member‑owners.

• Coordinate preparation of construction drawings and specifications for plant process equipment.
• Design and install new and replacement equipment.
• Work with consultants and contractors to accomplish engineering objectives.
• Troubleshoot existing systems with operations and maintenance to resolve safety or production problems using engineered solutions.
• Identify technical and operational training needs and initiate actions on capital and O & M projects.
• Monitor work activity to ensure it is performed safely and in compliance with current regulations.
• Assist in record keeping of system work order files, standard drawings, and data files.
• Analyze plant data and provide recommendations.
• Monitor and recommend new technology that could improve the efficiency, reliability, availability, and longevity of the power plant.
• Provide engineering support to other departments as required.

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering is required; related education may also be considered.
• Preferred but not required: experience with fixed equipment, especially piping systems, boilers, and heat exchangers.
• Open to recent graduates and experienced engineers.

Plant Engineer I: $74,130+ per year
Plant Engineer II: $95,226+ per year
Plant Engineer III: $106,594+ per year
Plant Engineer IV: $119,579+ per year
Senior Plant Engineer: $133,647+ per year

Pay is determined based on skills, education, and prior relevant experience.
