Power Plant Electrical Engineer
Provide technical support for the operation and maintenance of power plant electrical equipment, including generators/governors, transformers, voltage regulators, protective relaying systems, or switchyard grounding systems.
Provide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve issues with major electrical and electronic equipment in the power plant and other associated facilities.
Develop and modify electrical schematics, control systems, and wiring diagrams for existing power plant facilities.
Prepare final designs and project specifications for electrical/electronic systems in a hydroelectric powerplant and other associated facilities.
Review engineering plans, project specifications, and equipment for technical accuracy, safety, and adherence to National Electric Codes, National Fire Code, National Electric Reliability Corporation, and other industry standards.
Prepare engineering justifications, design studies, and cost estimates for electrical/electronic system projects and equipment replacement.
Perform contract administration, serving as a project engineer managing project budgets and ensuring contractor's performance is in accordance with project plans, specifications, and schedules.
Assist the Power Plant Manager with ensuring all program activities adhere to NERC reliability standards.
Provide technical support in the operation and maintenance of fire detection and security systems to ensure proper functioning of these systems.
