SUMMARY:
The Manager on Duty serves as the senior operational leader for their assigned shift and oversees all departments, team members, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient, compliant property-wide operations. This position provides immediate leadership support across the organization, addresses guest relations matters, authorizes complimentary items in accordance with established guidelines, and makes time-sensitive management decisions necessary to maintain service standards, operational continuity, safety, and regulatory compliance within the scope of their authority.
Direct Reports: All DCM team members on their assigned shifts except department heads and above
KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and Certification
Required:
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Extensive knowledge of all areas of gaming
- 3-5 years of leadership experience in casino, hospitality, hotel, or gaming operations
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in tribal gaming
- Associate or Bachelor's degree
- CPR/First Aid Certificate
- Crisis Prevention or de-escalation training
- Serv Safe Certification
- Strong conflict resolution, de-escalation , and verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to motivate staff, inspire confidence, and assign duties fairly to support productivity.
- Flexible and adaptable when unexpected changes arise, with the ability to adjust leadership style to fit the
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and operational software systems.
Required:
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently with sound
- Strong guest service and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to interpret and apply company policies and operational procedures.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Key Gaming License issued by the SWO Gaming Commission.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, and emergency situations.
- Oversees the entire operation in the absence of Department Managers and/or the General
- Handles all operational decisions during the assigned shift or contacts the appropriate Department Manager for guidance to resolve issues
- Ensures leadership visibility throughout the property through routine floor presence and operational
- Ensures exceptional guest service standards are maintained across all
- Ensures casino gaming operations comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as organizational policies, procedures, and internal
- Coordinates communication between departments to maintain efficient property operations.
- Assists with emergency responses, medical incidents, guest disturbances, weather events, evacuations, and other operational
- Resolves guest and/or team member disputes according to applicable policies and regulations.
- Authorizes slot overrides for transactions over a specified
- Conducts inspection and verification of machines for jackpots over a specified
- Documents significant operational events, incidents, guest complaints, and shift activity through detailed MOD reports/logs.
- Maintains an adequate understanding of casino policies and procedures, departmental policies and procedures, Internal Controls, and Tribal Gaming
- Maintains confidentiality regarding sensitive operational and team member
- Assists with team member coaching, conflict resolution, and operational follow-up when necessary.

- Submits a written daily report to the General Manager.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
