Dmc Uniforms Attendant (Full-Time) Where Needed

Responsible for all aspects of issuing, cleaning, and/or replacing uniforms for all uniformed employees; makes alterations and/or repairs for any uniform that requires such.

Knowledge and Certification

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • At least 21 years of age

Preferred:

  • Previous customer service and/or hotel experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Skills

Required:

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to handle diverse situations and/or people.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must have the ability to operate a sewing machine.
  • Must obtain a Non-Gaming license upon hire.

Abilities

Required:

  • Able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Effective team player, able to provide a welcoming, helpful environment in the uniform room
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with internal customers

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • On a daily basis, issues uniforms to all uniformed employees, as well as new hires and replacement uniforms.
  • Checks in and launders uniforms on a daily basis.
  • Steams uniforms, as necessary, so as to be wrinkle free.
  • Checks returned uniforms to determine if they are acceptable to return to stock and/or if repairs are necessary.
  • Labels and tags new stock uniforms using a computer program.
  • Makes all necessary repairs and alterations to any/all uniforms.
  • Checks uniforms in and out from the cleaning contractor.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary to fulfill the function and responsibility of this position.
  • Inspect all clean uniforms.
  • Monitor and keep an inventory of uniforms.
  • Communicate any uniform issues to the seamstress for repair.
  • Enter inventory data into the computer system
  • Count and track outgoing/incoming dry cleaning.
  • Work with dry cleaning company to find missing dry-cleaning items.
  • Knowledge of hotel, facilities and events.

The team member is regularly required to stand, for long periods of time. Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The team member is regularly exposed to risk of radiation (from computers), as a great deal of the workday is spent working on spreadsheets or inputting data into the computer system.

Office, gaming floor and convention center environment including flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke. Extensive computer use. Must handle hazardous materials. Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any hours and/or shift, as assigned, according to business needs. Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals. High volume direct public contact.
