Security Shift Supervisor
The Security Shift Supervisor provides direction and supervision over the uniformed security officers assigned to their respective shift.
Knowledge and Certification, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge and Certification
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Three years Casino Security experience
Skills
- Ability to interact with the public in a professional manner
- This may include physical contact to control a suspect or individual intending to flee or harm others.
- Physical ability to perform security and safety functions including apprehension of suspects and walking or standing for extended periods
- Ability to clearly provide verbal and written instructions and prepare reports
- Adheres to appropriate uniform code.
- Ability to generate clear and concise reports
Abilities
- Must be licensable by SWO Gaming Commission
- Must complete a 90-day probationary period
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure operations are completed in accordance with the established policies and procedures
- Ensure assigned personnel are qualified and trained
- Investigate real time incidents, review, and/or complete reports
- Administer and/or request disciplinary action when appropriate to correct subordinates
- Detect, monitor, and correct safety and security issues and hazards
- Contacting other officers when short handed
- Assist and administer medical aid
- Perform all security administrative functions as required
- Detain suspects for public safety issues and law enforcement response
- Knowledge of response tactics for Active Shooter
- Knowledge of Response tactics for a bomb threat
- Knowledge of Fire response
- Knowledge of tornado response
- Knowledge of vehicle accidents response
- Knowledge of crowd control tactics
- Knowledge of illegal drugs and identification
- Performs administration of drug and U.A. tests
- Knowledge of Tribal, Federal, and County Jurisdictions
- To perform other functions as assigned
- Adheres to strict confidentiality

The team member is regularly exposed to risk of radiation (from computers), as a great deal of the workday is spent working on spreadsheets or inputting data into the computer system.
Office, gaming floor and convention center environment including flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke. Extensive computer use. Must handle hazardous materials. Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any hours and/or shift, as assigned, according to business needs. Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals. High volume direct public contact.
