A highly regarded and long-established independent accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Personal Tax Manager to join its growing Private Client team in Watford.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong tax professional looking to work with a diverse portfolio of high‑net‑worth individuals, trusts and owner‑managed businesses, whilst gaining exposure to a broad range of advisory work within a collaborative and supportive environment.

The Role

You’ll work closely with Partners and senior members of the tax team, taking responsibility for a varied portfolio of private clients and delivering both compliance and advisory services.

Responsibilities
  • Managing a portfolio of personal, partnership and trust tax clients.
  • Reviewing tax returns and technical work prepared by junior team members.
  • Identifying and delivering tax planning opportunities for clients.
  • Supporting clients through HMRC enquiries and compliance checks.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Collaborating with Partners and colleagues on a wide range of advisory projects.
  • Coaching and supporting junior members of the tax team.
Qualifications
  • CTA qualification (or equivalent).
  • At least 2 years’ post‑qualified experience within private client tax.
  • Strong personal tax compliance experience with exposure to advisory work.
  • Experience reviewing work and mentoring junior staff.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Up‑to‑date technical tax knowledge.
  • Experience using tax software such as Digita would be advantageous.
