Position:
The City of Surrey ND is now accepting applications for a Public Works Employee with duties to include water, sewer, and street maintenance. Class B driver’s license with air brakes and equipment operating experience preferred. Position includes on call and must able to pass appropriate certifications.

This is professional position that works on public works programs in the areas of public including building maintenance, street and sidewalk construction and maintenance, operating/repairing equipment, garbage & landfill maintenance, and fresh/wastewater collections and treatment. This also includes groundskeeping duties throughout the city. When it snows, Public Works provides plowed roads, when a watermain breaks, they are required to respond. They fix potholes, crack seal, mow lawns, and take care of lift stations.

- Maintains records and prepares reports on a variety of subjects.
- Establishes and maintains good working relationships with community groups, members of the community, and contractors.
- Assists with maintenance and construction of water and sewer systems, streets, and buildings.
- Performs other related duties as assigned in a timely fashion.
- Possession of a valid North Dakota driver’s license.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a ND Water and Wastewater Certifications within a timely manner.
- Must possess or be able to obtain pesticide and herbicide certification.
This position is open until filled, 40hrs per week, and include a full benefit package. Wage DOE.
