Job Summary And Responsibilities
As our Activities Aide, you will assist in the planning, organization, and directing of activity programs for the facility population. You will prepare reports on the assigned population’s progress as may be required. Every day you will participate in activities that may include sports, dramatics, nature study, social activities, games, and arts and crafts in accordance with patient/resident needs. You will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents and patients by fostering engagement, promoting well‑being, and creating a stimulating and supportive environment through diverse programming.
To be successful in your role, you will creatively assist in the planning, organization, and direction of diverse activity programs tailored to the needs of our facility population. You will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, a compassionate approach, and the ability to effectively engage participants in a variety of activities, while meticulously reporting on their progress to enhance overall well‑being and contribute to their comprehensive care.
- Assists in developing and adapting activity programs to meet the individual physical, mental, and psychosocial needs and interests of each resident
- Completes accurate daily activity records, communicates relevant departmental information, and reports significant changes in resident participation to the activity coordinator
- Conducts daily one‑on‑one visits as required by care plans, encouraging participation in assigned activities with a positive approach, and follows/updates the monthly activity calendar
- Maintains strong interpersonal relationships with residents and colleagues, demonstrating helpfulness and respect for resident privacy and confidentiality
- Exhibits flexibility and initiative, performing additional tasks as assigned by the activity coordinator
- Engages in continuing education, participates in department/hospital activities, and sets personal goals for leadership and professionalism
- A high school diploma or GED
- Previous experience in an activity department, or at least in a nursing facility
CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake is a 25‑bed critical access hospital with a Level V Emergency Department that is available 24 hours a day. The hospital has been committed to providing patients quality medical treatment in the Turtle Lake area and surrounding communities since 1952, continually upgrading its services through a network of affiliated medical centers and agencies. It is equipped with 2 emergency rooms, on‑site lab, radiology, CT, and physical therapy services, and offers 24/7 emergency care, swing‑bed programs, and acute care services.
