Location: Tioga

Tioga Medical Center is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to work in a combination hospital/clinic setting.

Position Type: PRN

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum requirements include all of the following:

High School Diploma

Associate or Bachelors degree from of an accredited radiologic technologist program.

ARRT accreditation

Meet educational requirements of licensure requirements

Knowledge of radiation physics, anatomy, radiologic positioning, medical terminology, and disease processes

Current BLS certification

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Prepares and positions patients correctly for specific examinations, radiographic or fluoroscopic for surgery, CR, and DEXA, while observing the different or special requirements of each; must follow precise procedures as to exposure and positioning of patients.

Prepares all contrast media used in various examinations, such as gastrointestinal, intravenous CT exams.

Prepares and positions patients correctly for CT examinations.

Assist surgeons and providers during fluoroscopic examinations in ED and surgery.

Keeps office area, changing room, xray, DEXA, and CT rooms, equipment, accessories, and cassettes tidy; provides clean snapfree gowns for radiology procedures; cleans and wipes down equipment between patients.

Operates a portable xray machine and takes film at bedside of patient unable to be transported to the radiology department.

Translates doctor's orders involving technical surgical procedures into appropriate xray procedures such as operative orthopedic exams, fracture reductions, etc.

Helps maintain and track Radiology equipment.

Keeps inventories of chemicals, films, drugs, contrast media and other supplies used in xray and CT; orders various supplies whenever needed from radiologic supply companies.

Performs routine office duties, such as filing films, keeping patient records up-to-date, typing forms, dispensing reports, maintaining log of radiologic examinations, etc.

Must take call, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. When on call, the technologist must be reachable at any time and be able to be in the facility within 20 minutes from being contacted by hospital staff for a radiology examination.

Reads and stays informed regarding regulatory, scope of work and supervision requirements in accordance with current state and federal laws and regulations, and respective practice acts in North Dakota.

Participates in continuing education.

Attends department and in-service meetings.

May be required to travel to attend work-related meetings and educational opportunities.

Performs all duties or tasks requested by the Radiology Director.

ADDITIONAL TASKS

Treats all residents and patients with dignity and respect. Promotes and protects all residents' and patients' rights.

Establishes a culture of compliance by adhering to all facility policies and procedures. Complies with standards of business conduct, and state/federal regulations and guidelines.

Follows appropriate safety and hygiene measures at all times to protect residents, patients, and themselves.

Understands and demonstrates knowledge of infection control practices, Universal Precautions, OSHA Blood Borne Pathogen Standard, and follows compliance with established policies and procedures.

Maintains confidentiality of protected health information, including verbal, written, and electronic communications.

Reports noncompliance with policies, procedures, regulations, or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel. Reports any retaliation or discrimination to HR or CEO.

Reports any allegations of abuse, neglect, misappropriation of property, exploitation, or mistreatment of residents to supervisor and/or administrator. Protects residents and patients from abuse and cooperates with all investigations.

Reports any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and/or hazardous chemicals in accordance with facility policy.

Participates in all life safety and emergency drills and trainings. Fulfills responsibilities as assigned during implementation or activation of the facility's emergency plan.

Reports work-related injuries and illnesses immediately to supervisor.

Follows established infection control policies and procedures.

As a condition of employment, completes all assigned training and skills competency.
