Location: Watford City

Under direct supervision, trains for and participates in duties and related responsibilities of an emergency and/or hazardous nature in fire suppression and emergency operations in an industrial facility . Although firefighting and rescue work are the most difficult and responsible areas of activity, the major portion of time is spent drilling and studying methods, techniques, and organization, and in routine duties in the care and maintenance of customer property and equipment.

This is considered a safety sensitive position and is subject to the both, the Company’s and the Client’s Industrial Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy, which includes: pre-employment, post-accident, random, reasonable suspicion, return to duty and follow-up testing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

Responds to fires with their company in a timely , safe and skilled manner, and participates in control of fires through hose and nozzle work, use of hand tools or a combination of these methods. Quickly follows established Company procedures when responding to emergencies as well as instructions given at the emergency scene. Correctly and promptly uses all relevant apparatus, tools, and equipment.

Remains calm and poised in all emergency situations and gains rapid control over the problem at hand.

Administers first aid to injured parties at their appropriate level of training. Quickly analyzes situations where life safety is threatened and applies the correct treatment.

Conducts monthly fire protection checks (fire extinguishers, PIV’s, interior valves)

Conducts daily Hot Work Permit issuance, and daily hot work permit audits

Safely operates Company vehicles, and equipment as directed.

Assists in the maintenance of fire and rescue apparatus, tools, and equipment keeping such apparatus, tools, and equipment in good operating and safe condition by competently and efficiently performing maintenance and testing tasks.

Keeps the company offices and related grounds, facilities, and supplies in a clean, orderly and useable condition.

Performs routine non-firefighting work tasks willingly and adequately such as working on Company records, time cards and other related paperwork.

Able to meet the physical requirements required to perform firefighting tasks.

Remains skilled in and properly applies modern fire suppression tactics, methods, and procedures at training drills and emergency Incidents.

Projects a positive attitude and image to the client as a fire service professional to meet the client’s needs .

W orks effectively in following policies and procedures.

Education and Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

1 8 years old

Valid Driver’s License

Physical Agility Fitness Test (Initial Hire and Annually)

Must possess a State of Alabama or Nat ional Registry EMT-B credential

Must possess CPR/AED credentials

Must possess NFPA 1001, Firefighter I/II credentials , (State/IFSAC/Pro-Board) OR NFPA 1081, Industrial Fire Brigade Member

Advanced computer software application (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and Internet navigational skills. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
