Manager, Lab, Kenmare

Position Summary:

The Lab Manager provides leadership and operational oversight for the Laboratory, Radiology, and EKG departments at Trinity Health Kenmare Hospital. This working management role supports the delivery of accurate, timely diagnostic services by coordinating daily operations, supporting staff, and performing clinical duties as needed to maintain service continuity. Working closely with Hospital Administration, the Laboratory Director, providers, and interdisciplinary teams, the Lab Manager ensures compliance with CLIA, state, and federal regulations while promoting consistent quality standards.

Through organized workflows, collaborative leadership, and attention to best practices, the position supports reliable diagnostic processes and high-quality patient care across all assigned departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct daily operations of the Laboratory, Radiology, and EKG departments to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient diagnostic services.

Perform clinical duties within the laboratory, radiology, and EKG areas as needed to support workflow, patient care, and service continuity.

Ensure departmental compliance with CLIA, state, and federal regulations through monitoring, documentation, and regular review of practices and procedures.

Collaborate with Hospital Administration, the Laboratory Director, and providers to address operational needs, resolve issues, and support coordinated patient care.

Maintain staffing schedules, equipment readiness, quality control processes, and supply management to support consistent diagnostic performance.

Support staff development through training, feedback, and guidance to promote competency, safety, and high quality service delivery.

Licenses and Certifications

Required:

Laboratory: ASCP or equivalent/North Dakota licensure.

Radiology:
Minimum of NDMIRTBE LXMO license within 12 months.

Educational Requirements:

Medical Technology Degree – MT or MLT.Experience Requirements:

Laboratory:
Clinical Internship or clinical training.

Required in Clinical Internship/Training

Physical Requirements:

The Lab Manager frequently stands, walks, and moves throughout laboratory and diagnostic areas while performing and overseeing clinical procedures. The role may require bending, reaching, and lifting or moving equipment, specimen supplies, or radiology materials. Adequate vision, hearing, and manual dexterity are essential for performing diagnostic testing, operating laboratory and radiology equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation.

Environmental Requirements:

This position works in laboratory, radiology, and clinical environments with routine exposure to chemicals, infectious materials, bodily fluids, and diagnostic equipment. The role requires adherence to all safety, radiation protection, and infection prevention protocols. Work may involve variable workloads, oncall duties, and the need to respond quickly to patient care demands within a rural hospital setting.
