About the RoleThe Catering Team Members have flexible schedules during our peak season (May to Sep) based on the volume of events. This is a great opportunity to ramp up your income this summer while experiencing one of a kind Library events!
The Catering team plays a key role in bringing memorable events to life at the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library. From private dinners to high-profile programs and special events, this role offers the opportunity to be part of unique, behind-the-scenes experiences while earning income in a flexible, event-driven schedule.
Catering Associates support event setup, service, and breakdown, delivering high-quality hospitality and creating a welcoming guest experience. This is an ideal role for individuals who enjoy dynamic environments, value flexibility, and want to be part of meaningful and engaging events.

- Assist with event setup and breakdown, including tables, linens, service stations, and event spaces according to established standards.
- Support food and beverage service during events, including serving, replenishing stations, clearing tables, and assisting guests as needed.
- Work closely with Catering Leads, Events, Café, and Facilities teams to ensure smooth event flow and timely execution.
- Maintain clean, organized, and guest-ready event spaces before, during, and after events.
- Follow all health, safety, and food-handling guidelines, including proper sanitation and safe lifting practices.
- Provide friendly, professional, and mission-aligned guest interactions at all times.
- Assist with handling catering equipment, linens, and supplies with care and accountability.
- Support service recovery as needed by communicating guest needs or issues to the Catering Lead or supervisor.
- Standing for extended periods; lifting up to 40 lbs.

Hours:
event-based schedule; shifts vary and may include late nights, weekends, and bank holidays based on event needs.
Hourly pay: $20/hour. Employees receive discounts on food & beverage, retail purchases, and free museum tickets.
