On-Site Service Engineer (OSE)
The On-Site Service Engineer (OSE) provides hands-on, customer-facing support for enterprise data center and server environments, including next-generation AI platforms. This role focuses on maintaining system uptime, resolving complex hardware issues, and delivering high-quality on-site service. Strong data center and server fundamentals are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Provide on-site support for enterprise server and data center systems to ensure rapid issue resolution and minimal downtime.
- Perform hardware maintenance, including server builds, component swaps, replacements, and firmware updates.
- Execute both reactive and preventive maintenance activities following established procedures.
- Troubleshoot issues across hardware, firmware, and operating systems.
- Escalate complex issues as appropriate to ensure timely resolution.
- Collaborate with internal teams and on-site stakeholders during service events to ensure clear communication and resolution.
- Document work performed and contributed to shared knowledge bases and best practices.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide extended coverage when required.
- Support evolving technologies, including AI-focused data center platforms.
- Experience supporting servers or data center hardware in field, enterprise, or customer-facing environments.
- Hands-on experience with server components, including CPUs, memory, power supplies, GPUs, and related hardware.
- Familiarity with Linux or similar operating systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently in on-site environments.
- Clear and professional communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and support emerging technologies, including AI platforms.
- 3–5+ years of experience in technical support, field service, or data center roles.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Vendor certifications are a plus, but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to travel to sites and support flexible and on-call schedules.
