Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Deputy Country Director (DCD) to assist in providing leadership and direction for our office in Ukraine. Come join our team!

- Support the Country Director in cultivating an environment of continuous development of spiritually healthy field teams.
- In collaboration with senior management, actively participate in the development and implementation of a country office strategy and vision within the overall Samaritans Purse mission.
- Provide oversight of field office operations; guide the work of the Program Development Officer and Program Managers on proposals and budgets; monitor implementation and finances; evaluate ongoing and new activities to ensure targets are achieved and budgets are maintained; and oversee the completion of accurate and thorough reporting.
- Pursue potential funding and other available resources for ongoing, new, or planned Samaritans Purse projects.
- Participate in established process and structure to ensure stewardship of resources and personnel in all locations.
- Support the Country Director with monitoring security concerns and potential disasters, both natural and man-made.
- Ability to obtain and maintain any valid work visas (specifically, a valid Schengen Visa) is required.
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university and three (3) to five (5) years of related leadership and international field work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Extensive humanitarian field experience in a management role is strongly preferred.
- 12 credit hours of college‑level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, an opportunity to meet and complete the requirement is available upon hire.
- Ability to lead large cross‑cultural teams
- General knowledge of socioeconomic, cultural, and political conditions within the country
- Working knowledge of partnerships with USAID and other governmental and non‑governmental organizations
- General knowledge of project planning and implementation; logistics; and financial and administrative coordination
- Fluent spoken and written English required and French preferred
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
- Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style
- Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
Directly supervises 3‑5 supervisory employees and 1‑3 non‑supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include supporting the HR Manager in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
