Job Overview

The Food service Leader manages all aspects of the food service department, ensuring safe, compliant, and customer‑focused operations while driving sales and profitability.

Reporting Structure

Reports directly to the Store Leader.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead communication among Department Leaders to align department goals.
  • Maintain store appearance through daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly cleaning checklists.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and promptly repaired.
  • Manage signage, pricing, and merchandising for accuracy and compliance.
  • Create work schedules at least ten days in advance, ensuring adequate coverage with minimal overtime.
  • Use reporting, forecasting, and data analysis to meet payroll and margin objectives.
  • Uphold financial accountability and drive continuous improvement for store profitability.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and enforce incident prevention.
  • Lead the Food service department, meeting Serv Safe standards and state health inspection requirements.
  • Apply daily food safety practices: cleanliness, correct temperatures, and cross‑contamination prevention.
  • Keep food prices updated and menu board items current.
  • Ensure inventory flow—ordering, receiving, stocking, and back‑stock cycling—to meet demand without excess.
  • Deliver consistent food quality and maintain a clean kitchen and cooler floor.
  • Serve customers with a welcoming attitude, building relationships and promoting products/services.
  • Set and track sales, margin, and specific product goals in partnership with the General Manager.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for new products and promotional opportunities.
  • Promote daily specials and communicate high‑performing specials to Corporate.
  • Interview, hire, train, and evaluate team members; conduct monthly status meetings.
  • Coach staff, provide feedback, and develop succession plans for the department.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with 7‑10 direct reports.
  • Strong multitasking, strategic, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent customer‑care, interpersonal, and conflict‑resolution abilities.
  • Effective delegation, cognitive, and financial analysis capabilities.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Flexible schedule and basic computer proficiency.
  • Knowledge of food safety (Serv Safe) and state health regulations.
Minimum Requirements

Must demonstrate: ability to manage multiple tasks, strategic thinking, strong leadership in customer care, interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, decision making, delegation, cognitive and financial analysis, positive attitude, ability to handle all product lines, lift 40 lbs, flexible schedule, basic computer skills.
