Overview
SEC Energy is a single-source provider of natural gas compression equipment, parts and services to all segments of the oil & gas industry. From 50 to 10,000 horsepower, gas, electric or dual drive, SEC is capable of designing and fabricating equipment to meet each customer’s specific operating requirements. SEC also provides production, processing, and treating equipment, and an expansive network of warehouses that service locations across the United States.
SEC capabilities expand beyond traditional manufacturing to include turnkey engineering services, truck-based service technicians, manufacturer parts, and power generation equipment.
- Manages North Dakota region field and shop service area that performs on and off-site routine and call out services including installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Ensures that established regulatory environmental and safety standards are maintained. Manages all activities and decisions relative to the safety of the job and the surrounding area.
- Manages/Supervises direct reports in performing their job duties in a safe and efficient manner.
- Directs service contracts and support services; manages day-to-day field operations to meet customer requirements.
- Estimates and quotes of jobs for customers (with and without support).
- Monitors utilization and drives efficiency and productivity to minimize problems and downtime.
- Administers performance reviews for subordinates and maintains adherence to company policies.
- Ensures machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained for efficient operation.
- Schedules employees for hours required to support contracts and monitors overtime as needed.
- Maintains good employee relations, enforces proper disciplinary measures when required.
- Optimizes use of materials, improves methods, and eliminates wasteful practices within the department.
- Performs other functions/duties as required.
- Maintains ethical standards and promotes safety, operational, and customer service excellence; encourages open, transparent, respectful communication.
- Establishes a culture of safety and compliance; ensures health, safety, environmental, and HR requirements are met to comply with regulations.
- Leads the business function to drive ingenuity, best practices, and efficiency; coaches and develops employees for long-term sustainability and succession planning.
- Establishes and reinforces practical, safe, and efficient work processes to meet dynamic customer needs while maintaining flexibility.
- Sets customer- and shareholder-driven goals for earnings, quality, and cycle time/on-time performance; measures progress and makes corrections as necessary.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of 8+ years natural gas compression industry experience with in-depth knowledge of natural gas engines and compressor frames.
- Caterpillar and Ariel Certification preferred.
- Previous customer-facing management experience preferred.
- Software Knowledge: SAP, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Adobe; ability to learn other software.
- Ability to manage field services area and lead direct reports to increase efficiency, production quality and volume.
- Ability to plan and oversee overhaul, repairs and maintenance of engines, compressors, pumps, turbines, and motors.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and external parties to develop business.
- Ability to communicate and resolve issues professionally; handle internal and external problems to achieve outcomes.
- Performs other functions/duties as required to meet customer and company requirements.
- 5-10 years of people management experience
- SAP experience preferred
- Microsoft Project
- Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Driving, walking, and standing frequently
- Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions, and some heavy lifting
- Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings with exposure to materials, chemicals, extreme temperatures, loud machinery; use of PPE is required
- Occasional overnight travel may be required
