Position Description

A Superintendent is responsible to know the need of the customer as well as the needs of the supervision that the position is responsible for.

Essential Job Functions
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Prepared and on time for scheduled shift with proper PPE.
  • Must possess a current and valid Driver License with clean driving record.
  • Accountable for supervision under work authority, assists supervision as needed to ensure job tasks are completed in a safe, efficient manner and to go over job sites to make sure the customer receives a quality product.
  • Manages supervision utilization like when supervision changes occur, to provide guidance and information to new supervision until they are settled in their new position.
  • Evaluates crew capabilities including foreman like training and coaching to ensure that the crews meet required levels of quality.
  • Effectively communicates with supervision and all crew members to set and maintain work standards and outlining behavioral expectations to ensure morale along with productively.
  • Resolves conflict and takes appropriate personnel actions by recognizing and addressing issues between crew(s).
  • Conducts safe work and performs safety audits and identifies safety training needs and facilitates delivery of training.
  • Monitors and participates in tailgate meetings safety/incident investigations and reviews. Communicates with supervision and/or safety personnel, topics for morning tailgate meetings. (Lead by example)
  • Ensure timely response, actions and corrections to any safety issue.
  • Oversees the execution of the work, including quality and production.
  • Understand mechanical drawings/blueprints and constructability as well as ensures crews work to job specifications and follow drawings.
  • Implement workforce plans and schedules, review and adjusts specific workforce activities and task schedules to meet established production agendas.
  • Reports any scheduling conflicts with other crews and contractors to the appropriate personnel.
  • Utilizes CI tools to reduce job cost and KSI’s cost of doing business also reports on crew production, work progress and change, communicate budget concerns to supervision.
  • Attends customer meetings as needed with estimating cost control, resource loading, project performance and improvement. Perform job walks and audits with the customers to keep good communication with issues and changes in the job.
  • Monitors all KSI and Customer safety processes.
  • Coach and mentor crew members on policies and procedures.
  • Develop knowledge of KSI SOPs and audit for adherence.
  • Shall perform all physical and mental requirements listed.

    • Ability to read and write in English
    • Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions in English
    • Ability to communicate with employees and various business partners in a professional and courteous manner.
    • Ability to handle administrative duties of position, including completion of required documents
    • Knowledge of technology (iPads, cellphones etc.)
    • Knowledge with Microsoft Office products
    • Knowledge of Stop Work Authority (SWA)
    • Ability to complete safety and quality training
    • OHSA policies and procedures
    • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of foreman duties
    • Ability to comprehend company and project safety programs and objectives
    • Effectively lead crews and run meetings
    • Ability to coach and teach foremen and crew members
    • Ability to assess crew skills
    • Encourage, foster and manage differences and diversity on the job site
    • Ability to effectively use time management skills

    Education and Experience

    Have 8 years or more of industry experience along with knowledge of tools.

    Lifting/Pulling/Jerking/Grasping/Raising/Lowering:
    Must be able to lift, grasp up to 50 lbs. with the use of fingers, palm and wrists to hold and/or manipulate objects (hammers, saws, pencils, pens etc.) Must be able to raise and lower objects from one level to another.

    Squatting/Twisting/Bend/Reaching/Stooping/Squatting/Kneeling:
