Production Specialist
Location:
Velva, North Dakota
Full‑time, hourly position reporting directly to the Shift Supervisor.
Shift and AvailabilityRotating shifts with the flexibility to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice.
SummaryThis role involves a variety of responsibilities in a fast‑paced production environment, including grain and meal handling, equipment operation, and safety compliance.
Essential Job Functions- Assist with grain and meal handling.
- Maintain safety and cleanliness of equipment and facility.
- Weigh, bag, pack, unpack, label, and store products while sanitizing the facility.
- Interact regularly with peers and management to pursue continuous improvement and teamwork.
- Communicate with team and shift employees regarding equipment operation, safety, and maintenance.
- Operate equipment for loading/unloading bulk materials, including trucks, rail cars, forklifts, skid‑steers, and front‑end loaders.
- Utilize computer systems to record safety, sanitation, maintenance, and processing data.
- Adhere to ADM's Safety, Environmental Compliance, Food Quality, and zero‑injury culture goals.
- Exhibit reliable attendance in accordance with company policy.
- Other duties as assigned.
High School diploma or GED.
Requirements- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
- Ability to understand and effectively communicate in English (verbal and written).
- Experience in production and/or similar military environment (preferred).
- Complete ADM safety, food safety, quality, and environmental training.
- Participate in company planned operations training.
- Equipment training may include JLG, forklift, non‑DOT truck, reach lift, etc.
- Ambient conditions: non‑air‑conditioned production environment, hot or cold temperatures, all seasonal elements, indoors and outdoors.
- Atmosphere: dust (peanut allergen), cotton, canola seed, and odor.
- Must work near noise levels up to or exceeding 85 decibels and use hearing protection.
- Company–provided protective clothing required: uniforms, hard hats, earplugs, safety glasses, hair restraints, steel‑toed shoes, gloves, and safety harnesses.
- Employees required to wear all required PPE; respirator users must be clean shaven.
- Move about by ascending/descending stairs, bending, kneeling, prolonged standing and sitting, stooping, and squatting.
- Operate equipment or machinery at various heights, possibly involving ladders, scaffolding, or confined spaces.
- Lift and transport materials up to 40 pounds frequently, up to 55 pounds occasionally, and up to 50 pounds overhead.
- Wear respirators when required.
- Traverse up to two miles during the workday.
Eight‑hour shifts on a rotational or swing schedule (seven‑day swing and/or rotational).
Background check required.
Pay and CompensationHourly base pay: $23.30/hour, with overtime compensation for qualifying overtime.
Salary Range$75,000–$100,000.
