Machine Operator

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate packaging equipment according to product specifications and ensuring accuracy in weights and codes.
• Adjust machines as required.
• Maintain proper documentation of downtime and repairs.
• Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance work on equipment.
• Continuously check the quality of the product, packaging, and case printing according to standard operating procedures and policies.
• Report any issues or concerns to the Packaging Supervisor as needed.
• Inspect and conduct regular deep cleaning of equipment after each product change.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment at all times.
• Operate in accordance with health, safety, and fire prevention regulations and practices, and standard operating procedures.
• Partner with company leadership to proactively identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities in the areas of safety, food safety, quality, productivity, and sanitation.

Other duties as assigned.

• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Previous experience operating machines.
• Previous experience in a food manufacturing facility.

• Must be able to balance, stand, walk, and work in high heat/humidity for 8+ hours per shift.
• Must be able to perform simple grasping for 8+ hours per shift.
• Must be able to lift up to 34 pounds for 8+ hours per shift.
• Must be able to bend, crouch, stoop, and work in a dusty environment for 6+ hours per shift.
• Must be able to push, pull, perform fine manipulation, and feel for 6+ hours per shift.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds for 6+ hours per shift.
• Must be able to kneel, sit, reach above shoulders, and climb/work off ladder for 3+ hours per shift.
• Must be able to operate foot pedals for 3+ hours per shift.
• Must be able to make fine distinctions in sound, distinguish objects and equipment visually, and express or exchange ideas by spoken or written word.
