API Inspector

Summary

Conduct Mechanical Integrity inspections on vessels, piping and tanks at ethanol facilities across the US on a 3 week on/1 week off rotational schedule.

• Conduct non‑destructive testing (NDT) of components and materials in accordance with applicable codes, standards, equipment utilization, specifications, and procedures.
• Utilize appropriate NDT methods to perform inspections, including API 510, API 570, API 653, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, ultrasonic, leak testing and visual inspections.
• Select, prepare, load, calibrate, or operate equipment used in the non‑destructive testing of products or materials.
• Identify defects in materials using appropriate testing techniques.
• Complete documentation, work orders, and reporting thoroughly following established protocols and meeting required time frames.
• Drive company vehicles and maintain a safe driving record.
• Maintain a safety‑focused mindset: knowledge of, commitment to, and ability to lead others to follow safety regulations, policies and procedures; recognize hazards and provide instruction to assigned assistants.
• Interact professionally with customers and co‑workers.

• NDT methods – expertise in multiple NDT methods and willingness to engage in ongoing learning and application of skills.
• Mechanical – intermediate mechanical knowledge and aptitude.
• Communication and active listening – strong verbal and written communication skills; able to speak and write clearly and to listen attentively.
• Work a demanding and flexible schedule – primarily 3 weeks traveling to projects in the Midwest with one week off; able to handle a 6‑day, 10‑hour shift schedule.
• Physical demands – able repeatedly lift and carry objects up to 75 pounds on rough or uneven terrain; occasionally lift, push, pull, or carry up to 150 pounds with assistance; work at heights, in confined spaces and extreme temperatures.
• Professional appearance and conduct – dress appropriately and maintain good hygiene.
• Customer service – interact professionally with customers and arrive punctually.
• Coordination – adjust actions in relation to others’ actions.
• Operation monitoring – watch gauges, dials or other indicators to verify proper machine or process operation.

High School Diploma or GED.

Valid driver’s license. Insurability through PROtect, LLC insurance carrier. Certification in API 510, 570, 653 required.

Demonstrated NDT skill, knowledge, or experience.
