Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Electrical Engineering
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist Electrical team in response to daily production needs and interruptions by providing hands‑on electrical support in process controls, resolving common power system electrical issues, and equipment downtime root cause analysis.
- Assist Electrical team in completion of regular preventive maintenance on all electrical equipment according to established schedules and procedures.
- Learn to use tools, meters, and technology to troubleshoot facility‑specific PLCs, motors, VFDs, and process/support equipment.
- Assist with installation and commissioning of electrical equipment by running/connecting wires, construction panels/control boxes, and performing other tasks in accordance with NEC, North Dakota Electrical Codes, and NFPA 70E.
- Provide assistance to other Electrical and Maintenance team members, when required.
- Partner with company leadership to proactively identify and execute on continuous improvement opportunities in safety, food safety, quality, productivity, and sanitation.
- Other duties, as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution AND at least 3+ years electrical maintenance experience, OR Associates degree or higher in electrical, electro‑mechanical, mechatronics, instrumentation or controls in lieu of experience.
- Previous experience with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens).
- Previous experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and instrumentation.
- Previous experience working with 480V systems.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work in hot, humid, and cold manufacturing environment.
- Work in overcrowded spaces for 6+ hours per shift.
- Climb, squat, and crouch for 8+ hours per shift.
- Stand for 8+ hours per shift.
- Walk for 8+ hours per shift.
- Reach, grasp, push, pull for 8+ hours per shift.
