Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide supervision of pipeline technical maintenance activities, directing electrical, electronic, and mechanical technicians, and manage district technical projects.
- Offer guidance to resolve operational problems and collaborate with shared service departments to maintain consistency and maximize benefits across all business areas.
- Support capital projects through commissioning activities and provide recommendations for system operational improvements through capital and expense project submissions.
- Ensure equipment reliability and efficiency by implementing the preventative maintenance program and managing the technical maintenance expense budget, including re‑forecasting.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, company policy, and mandatory maintenance inspections.
- Support and assist with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) training activities and ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures.
- Provide supervisory relief during pipeline emergencies or business needs, as required.
- High School or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience).
- 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical components required for liquid pipeline operations.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to implement company safety policies and procedures.
- Strong PC skills and proficiency with applicable software applications.
- Knowledge of PLCs, PLC programming, electrical systems, pumps, engines, motors, and valves.
- Understanding of DOT‑OPS regulations, including operator qualifications requirements.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Position requires a 24‑hour call schedule, 7 days per week, and must be able to supervise outdoor technical maintenance activities in all climate conditions.
- Must be able to climb storage tanks and ladders, work safely in hazardous environments, and respond to emergency situations.
- Position may require travel throughout North Dakota or other temporary assignments.
- Generally normal office working conditions, with occasional overnight travel.
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings that may involve exposure to materials, chemicals, extreme temperatures, loud machinery, and require personal protective equipment.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
