Control Engineer

Overview

Hebron Brick, an employee owned company located in Hebron, North Dakota, is looking for a Control Engineer. Plant hours are Monday – Friday 6:30 am to 3:00 pm CST.

• Provide technical support for industrial controls used in the manufacturing process.
• Assist Plant Manager with daily plant operations to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Monitor daily operations of the kiln and dryer and implement program changes as necessary.
• Monitor kiln and dryer equipment (actuators, fans, solenoids, thermocouples) for efficient operation.
• Oversee installation of control systems on new and/or existing equipment.
• Make programming changes required to maintain and improve the manufacturing process.
• Manage Plant Technicians, including scheduling vacations and daily work schedules across three shifts, and planning daily and weekly production schedules.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Maintain all electrical and electronic components in the plant: programming, spare parts inventory, maintenance, and updates with new technology.
• Perform tests and analyze results to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
• Collaborate with employees and equipment to improve working conditions and efficiencies.
• Demonstrate strong communication, leadership, and personnel management skills.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of mechanical and electrical plant processes, equipment, and workflow to support cost-efficient manufacturing operations.
• Software:
  Allen Bradley Factory Talk, RSLogix 500 & 5000, RSLinx, Panel Builder
  32, Device Net, Fanuc Karel Software, Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Equipment:
  Fanuc Robotics, Allen Bradley Control Logix, PLCs, and Panel Views.

Applicant should have excellent knowledge of PLC systems, electrical theory, and an understanding of mechanical and electrical plant processes, equipment, and workflow. This supports effective troubleshooting that minimizes downtime and contributes to producing a quality product. Strong communication, leadership, and personnel management skills are required. Software experience includes Fanuc Karel Software, Allen Bradley RSLogix 500 & 5000, RSLinx, Panel Builder;
Microsoft Word and Excel. Equipment experience includes Fanuc Robotics, Allen Bradley Control Logix, PLCs and Panel Views.
