STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: Works under the supervision of the Director of Nursing. The registered nurse plans, oversees, and evaluates patient care utilizing the Nursing Process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) while maintaining the standards of the State Nurse Practice Act, facility policy and procedures, and the Mission and Philosophy of the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in the development and implementation of the plan of care.
- Report changes or status of nursing interventions to team RN.
- Assign or delegate components of nursing care to other members of the Healthcare Team.
- Document nursing interventions and the patient’s responses to care.
- Participate in patient teaching by implementing or modifying the teaching plan.
- Demonstrate ability and knowledge in performing unit skills labs.
- Contribute to the nursing assessment of the patient.
- Practice as a team member in the delivery of care.
- Collect, record, and report assessment data.
Identify signs and symptoms of deviations from normal health status to establish a nursing diagnosis.
QualificationsEducation: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Licensure: Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state of ND or in a compact state. Graduate Nurse (G.N.) must practice under the supervision of a registered nurse while the work authorization to practice is valid.
Experience: Previous healthcare experience preferred but not required.
