MANAGER PATIENT CARE SERVICES - MED SURG

* In addition, this position will include full responsibility for Infection Prevention.

Responsible for overseeing the daily operation of assigned unit(s) to ensure high-quality, compassionate, and efficient patient care. Responsible for leading and developing staff, managing budgets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

* Maintains operational responsibility for nursing and health care services on the unit.

* Promotes positive customer relations with physicians, patients, families, visitors and employees. Follows up on complaints and provides feedback. Monitors level of patient, staff and physician satisfaction.

* Promotes collaboration regarding patient care issues with various staff levels and disciplines.

* In collaboration with other members of the leadership team and the Education Staff, ensure staff participation in orientation, mandatory and continuing education programs and other staff development opportunities.

* Plans unit conferences, educational endeavors, and in-service meetings for staff.

* Ensures quality and appropriateness of care is maintained/monitored and relevant action plans are developed and implemented.

* Utilizes objective measurement tools to evaluate the quality of nursing care delivered to patients serviced.

Required:

* Bachelor's degree in nursing with a minimum of 3 years nursing-related experience

OR associate's degree with 5 years of nursing-related experience

* Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice nursing in Michigan

* BLS Certification

Preferred:

* Master's degree in a related program

* A minimum of 2 years' leadership experience

* ACLS Certification
