Department Details: 12 hour Night Shift, night differential and weekend differential.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting. Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards related to the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident as per care plan.

• Perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status and provide the care needed.
• Recognize problems, recommend solutions and respond effectively to assist in an emergent situation.
• Ensure the health, comfort and safety of residents.
• Contribute to the assessment of residents and administer medications or treatments as ordered.
• Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed.
• Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the public.
• Communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Counsel residents, family members and/or resident advocate, under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider or physician on prevention and treatment plans.
• Apply resident education principles to develop a self‑care program.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse; associate degree preferred.
• If the position requires IV therapy/management skills, graduation from a board‑approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing is required.
• Attendance of a pre‑licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the lifespan or a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility.
• Currently holds an unencumbered LPN license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi‑state licensure privileges.
• Obtain and maintain required department‑specific competencies and certifications.
• Complete required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility.
