Shift & Schedule

12‑hour day shifts (full time). 36.00 weekly hours. Starting rate: $26.00–$36.00. Sign‑on bonus: $15,000. 12‑hour rotating schedule.

Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long‑term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. The LPN demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles, practices within the full scope of nursing expertise, and utilizes appropriate age and population‑specific standards related to the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident as per the care plan.

The LPN performs assessments, administers medications or treatments as ordered, documents resident interactions and outcomes, and provides support to the interdisciplinary care team.

Responsibilities
  • Perform nursing assessments and administer medications or treatments as ordered.
  • Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and diet.
  • Assist in emergency situations by recognizing problems, recommending solutions, and responding effectively.
  • Recognize resident status changes and perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status.
  • Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, health care providers, and the public.
  • Communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Counsel residents, family members, or resident advocates on prevention and treatment plans.
  • Develop self‑care programs using resident education principles.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse. An associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
  • If the position requires IV therapy/management skills, completion of a Board‑approved AASPN program with IV therapy or a course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing is required.
  • Minimum of 400 hours of LPN experience at another facility, or completed pre‑licensure clinical experience across the lifespan as part of the curriculum.
  • Current, unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with the State Nursing Board; may hold multi‑state licensure privileges.
  • Obtain and maintain required department‑specific competencies and certifications.
  • Complete required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training.
