The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation—to provide individualized nursing care to residents. Collaborates with residents and families, as well as interdisciplinary colleagues—including providers—to plan, implement, and evaluate care. Demonstrates competency within the full scope of nursing expertise, applying appropriate age and population‑specific standards designated in the assigned clinical setting. Cares for residents in all phases of preventive care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment;
coordinates resident assessment, education, and various nursing interventions. May serve as charge nurse and delegate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel within their job descriptions, skills, and competence levels, providing assistance and support to ensure safe, reliable administration of resident care and resolution of care concerns. Functions within the scopes and standards of nursing practice outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and state administrative rules.
- Utilize the nursing process to provide individualized care to residents.

- Provide care in all phases of preventive care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Coordinate resident assessment, education, and various nursing interventions.
- Serve as charge nurse and delegate tasks to licensed/unlicensed assistive personnel as appropriate.
- Ensure safe and reliable administration of resident care and resolve care concerns.
- Adhere to the Nurse Practice Act and state regulatory standards.
- Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program (BC, CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA preferred).
- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
- Hold an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where practicing, or possess multistate licensure under the Nurse Licensure Compact.
- Obtain and maintain required department‑specific competencies and certifications.
