Premium Pay Rates:
$7/hour premium on all hours worked.
$1.25/hour weekend shift differential
$1.25/hour evening/night shift differential (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM) Travel required to support multiple locations within 75-mile radius of permanent address
Experience Requirements:
3 months experience in Long Term Care required (6 months preferred)
Scheduling Requirements:
Minimum of 30 hours per month
One weekend shift per month
Job Summary
The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care. Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Knowledge of and delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per care plan. The NA is a member of the nursing team and is expected to follow infection prevention and control policies and PPE use.
Provides assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support and other personal care to the resident. Assists with transfers, repositioning, walking, ROM and passive exercises. Supports dining tasks and dining experience. Assists residents with meals and snacks, provides water and supplements as appropriate.
The NA aids providers and nursing staff with procedures, documents resident interactions and communicates changes to the charge nurse. Collects non-invasive specimens and vital signs. Provides housekeeping and laundry services and supports wellness and recreational programs. May participate in committees and task forces as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
Minimum age: 18.
Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
Required CNA certification with State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by training program or Endorsement. CNA training and certification provided by facility.
QMAP certification may be required in Colorado facilities.
Annual continuing education requirements: minimum 12 hours.
UAP Registry: may be applicable in some states.
Driver status:
Sanford Category II Driver possible; must be medically qualified to drive per policy.
