RN Nurse
Registered Nurse In Long Term Care
The position is for a Registered Nurse in a Long Term Care facility. Nurses will act as charge and pass medications while performing wound care. The facility accommodates 26 residents with a primary focus on long-term care. Common diagnoses include heart disease, diabetes, and dementia. Nurse-to-resident ratios are 1:10 during the day and 1:19 during night shifts. There is no clinical involvement expected in this role.
The unit does not have IVs, titratable drips, or telemetry monitoring. RNs are not required to attend interdisciplinary team conferences. Physicians are available via phone on-call after hours. Physical therapy services are available as needed, with a social worker designated for support. No respiratory therapy is on-site 24/7. Oxygen therapy equipment such as concentrators will be used as needed. The medication dispensing system is off-site.
Shifts are scheduled with no blocked scheduling or self-scheduling options. Weekend shifts are required every other week, along with holiday commitments. There are no floating requirements for this position. RNs must maintain a clean and presentable appearance. Shifts and specific orientation consist of 2 to 3 days. Candidates must comply with the radius rule of 50 miles. Required time off must be requested upfront, with limitations on additional requests.
The cancellation policy allows the facility to cancel up to 4 shifts during the assignment. The charting system used is Matrix Care/Matrix. A BSN degree is not required for this position.
