The Clinic Nurse in our Rural Health Clinic and Allergy Clinic will provide care to patients at our fast‑paced medical clinic. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring patient health, providing treatments, administering medications, and educating patients on health maintenance and disease prevention. Additionally, the Clinic Nurse will work closely with the medical staff to ensure quality care is provided to all patients.
SupervisoryResponsibilities
- Daily activities of CMA III/CNA
- Skin prick testing.
- Intradermal testing.
- Environmental allergen testing.
- Food allergen testing.
- Medication allergy testing when appropriate.
- Preparation of patients and supplies for testing.
- Monitoring patients during and following testing.
- Measuring, documenting, and reporting testing results.
- Providing pre‑testing instructions, including medication restrictions as directed by the provider.
- Providing post‑testing education and instructions.
- Administer subcutaneous allergen immunotherapy according to provider orders and established protocols.
- Verify correct patient, allergen extract, vial, concentration, dose, and schedule prior to administration.
- Review patients for illness, medication changes, previous reactions, and other factors that may affect immunotherapy administration.
- Monitor patients for the required observation period following injections.
- Assess and document local or systemic reactions.
- Follow established protocols for dose adjustments after missed injections or reactions.
- Communicate significant reactions or concerns to the provider.
- Educate patients regarding immunotherapy schedules, expected reactions, and symptoms requiring immediate medical attention.
- Maintain accurate immunotherapy documentation and tracking.
- Administer injectable biologic medications according to provider orders and organizational policy.
- Coordinate initiation and ongoing administration of biologic therapies.
- Provide education regarding medication administration, expected effects, potential adverse reactions, and treatment schedules.
- Monitor patients following medication administration when required.
- Assist with teaching patients or caregivers appropriate self‑administration techniques when applicable.
- Track medication schedules and ensure patients receive appropriate follow‑up.
- Coordinate with pharmacies, specialty pharmacies, insurance companies, and prior authorization staff as needed.
- Oral food challenges.

- Preparation of appropriate medications, foods, supplies, and emergency equipment.
- Baseline patient assessment prior to challenge initiation.
- Administration of ordered doses at designated intervals.
- Frequent assessment and monitoring throughout the challenge.
- Recognition and documentation of symptoms or reactions.
- Immediate communication with the provider regarding changes in patient condition.
- Patient education and discharge instructions following completion of the challenge.
- Maintain the ability to recognize signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis and other serious allergic reactions.
