Join our dynamic team in a critical access facility located in a rural area with a total of 25 beds. We support various patient needs, focusing on geriatric care and recovery.
Certifications Required- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably within a travel nursing capacity.
Patient Care OverviewThe successful candidate will work in a team nursing environment and handle a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:8. Common patient types include:
- Dementia
- Dependent older adults
- Diabetes
- Rehab and restorative care post-acute illness
- IV medication and fluid/blood administration
- COVID-19 cases
- Wound care
- Initial care of trauma patients in the Emergency Room
- Exacerbation of chronic illnesses
- Understanding of dementia and stroke care
- Expertise in skin care for geriatric patient populations
- Ability to titrate IV drips, including electrolytes, hypertensive medications, IV antibiotics, and blood transfusions
- 12-hour shifts: and
- Self-scheduling available with block scheduling upon request
- Weekend requirement:
Every other - Holiday requirement:
Alternating, typically every other holiday
New hires will undergo three shifts of unit-specific orientation to ensure a smooth integration into the team.
Additional InformationNo participation in on-call or standby. Floating will be required between the ER and Med Surg units. The role includes the support of nurse aides or patient care technicians on each shift.
