Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Long Term Care/Skilled Nursing position requiring ND or compact licensure and prior LTC experience.

Details
  • Long Term Care/Skilled Nursing Facility setting with 26 beds/residents
  • Patient population includes heart disease, diabetes, and dementia diagnoses
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:10 on days and 1:19 on nights
  • Uses Matrix Care/Matrix EMR system
  • 12-hour day shifts scheduled 7am-7pm
  • Every other weekend (EOW) required
  • Every other major holiday coverage required
  • First to float within the unit
  • No call or standby requirements
  • No IVs, titratable drips, or telemetry monitoring on this unit
  • Physician availability is by phone on-call after hours
  • PT available as needed and social worker designee support
  • Oxygen therapy equipment includes concentrators and portable concentrators
  • Pharmacy is off-site with no on-site medication dispensing system
  • 2-3 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
Requirements
  • Active State or Compact (NLC) RN license required, ND or compact license specifically needed for this position
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Prior LTC (Long Term Care) experience required
  • BSN not required for this position
  • Nursys license verification required
  • Copy of driver's license required for consideration
  • Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
Additional Information
  • RN will act as charge nurse, pass medications, and perform wound care
  • No clinical involvement duties expected as house supervisor or unit-based clinical education
  • No interdisciplinary rehab beds on this unit, LTC beds only
  • Dress code requires clean and presentable attire with no specific scrub color
  • No blocked scheduling or self-scheduling available
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
  • Candidates may not be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN with any Common Spirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity Health
  • Up to 7 days of RTO may be requested upfront per 13-week contract, with no additional RTO approved after submission
